A pesar de no gozar de la amplia audiencia del Oscar o la gran cantidad de fanáticos del Grammy, los premios Tony son talvez la premiación más completa y con los seguidores más leales. La “America Teather Wings” es la encargada de organizar esta premiación que cada celebra lo mejor de Broadway.

En el día de ayer los ganadores de Tony en pasadas entregas Cynthia Nixon y Lin-Manuel Miranda fueron los encargados de dar a conocer el listado de los nominados de este año. La lista se extiende a poco más de 30 categorías, la mayoría correspondiente a musicales, aunque también se premian obras de teatro, y este año está encabezada por “Billy Elliot” que tiene 15 nominaciones un recórd previamente logrado sólo por la comedia musical de Mel Brooks “The Producers”, a este nuevo musical le sigue “Next to Normal” que logró 11 y “Sherk: The Musical” y “Hair” que obtuvieron 8. Los ganadores serán anunciados el domingo 7 de Junio por una transmisión en vivo desde el Radio City Music Hall de New York. En nuestro país podrá ser sintonizado en la cadena
